Timeline at Sockburn School

Timeline of my time at Sockburn School

My time at Sockburn School has been a long process from when I started as a New Entrant. Good things and bad things have happened in that time. This is my story.

My time began as a new entrant with Mrs Marshall in room 9.

I can’t remember much because it was a long time ago. But I remember making my first friend and friend to this very day, his name is Greg.

Next I went to room 13, the only classroom I was not with my best friend. I had Mrs Clements and this was the year I got most of my  many certificates. I remember taking a swim  in the pool and when I was on the steps in the pool I Jumped

Room 11 was with Mr Crookbain

This year I remember that Greg and I tried to answer a hard math question and I don’t remember if we answered or not. But we spent a lot of time on it. I did a lot of gardening that year but it hadn't rubbed on me.  I did Action sports instead of doing hagley.

Now onto what was probably my favorite year in room 5 with Mr Kerr!

This year there was a sticker chart I got 2nd, 4th and 3rd. That year Greg and I dominated horses and jockeys, I was the horse all the time!

In between games, we did basic facts sheets. There were also Kerr credits. I had the 3rd highest total with about 1100 odd credits. I bought two scarves for 500 and 600 then I gave 60 to Greg because he went broke! He spent his credits on an inflatable basket ball that he does not use.

This year I played for the Football A Team and we won our grade that year!    

Room 1 with Mrs North… well what a year it was. I use my vocal cords to the max! I learnt how to master the art of division with Mrs North. I was in the Football A team again but this year we went as successful!

Kahikatea with Mrs Boswell, Mr Barrow and halfway through  term 2 Miss McCormick.

This year was full of laughs and giggles and success with being a house leader and winning the Kerr shield which was awesome! I got third in my grade for the Football A team, won some books and awards did a triple shift in road patrol. But you can't forget the puns like WOOD you like a hand and this is Treerific. Later in term 3 swimming with just going back and forth with freestyle, backstroke and many more.Going to the A&P show and getting too see John Key and Gerry Brownlee, Also getting a ton of free stuff. I entered a competition to win stuff. Early this year going to the Margaret Mahy playground Brad and I tried to see how fast we could go down the huge slide and we had success launching off the end.

Thanks to all the teachers who have taught me through the years and supported me and it will be weird not being here.

Vroom!  Driving through St Arnaud We see a bright yellow sign that says Lake Rotoiti. Then my Dad says “Lets go there” he said everyone in the car agreed (My mum, Tom, My Dad and myself.) We drive down there it was a really nice day. Next we all got out of the car and look out all over the lake and the water was super clear. I looked out over the flamboyant lake and I could see the bottom.

Next we each had our photo taken Tom and I both stood beside each other and smiled. After that I took a photo of my Mum And Dad, then I thought what a beautiful place.

With this in my complex mind I think I would love to go diving there one day and look around for Brown trout. As we leave I see a well presented trailer that says sailing “could we do that” I ask  My Dad says “no because we got to drive  2 hours to go back home” “OK”  I say. But I think this place will be in my mind forever.  As we drive out there was no traffic at all!

 The Slug VS The Snail - Week  4“Welcome everybody to the gradensvill drag strip for the final race and who will win the leaf cup”. “Between the almighty swift the slug and speedy the snail now here we go lining up for this prestigious trophy”. “We have some smack talk by the raining leaf cup champion swift the slug what will speedy the snail do... He does nothing wow speedy is so focused”. “The leaf is being dropped the engine noises roar away we go it looks like speedy got the whole shot over swift. Here we are thundering down the quarter meter drag strip speedy is in the lead. Now can he hold the lead, now we are at the 10 centimeter mark now approaching the 15 cm now 20 cm here we go the final length.  Can speedy hold on it's going to be a matter of inches…. Speedy wins the leaf cup what a race by speedy.“ What is your secret speedy” “Well it's not talking smack like swift which uses your energy.”

The Playground Research Recap

At the start of the term our whole school hit the road to the massive Margaret Mahy playground. To research about what magnificent playground equipment that we would wish to have at our new sterling school.

A piece of stupendous playground I chose is something that all excellent ages can go on. The bouncy trampolines, it’s looks doesn't say much about them. You can’t see them from a distant you have to stand vertically above them to see them. How fun are they extremely amusing because you don’t have to be big, small, tall or short it's just so entertaining. Another bonus is that they are tiny so you could get more than one because they take up minimal space. Safety wise they are ok because they don’t go very high. The feel of the trampolines are exquisite because of the fabric.  

 

The next piece of breathtaking equipment is of course the massive slide. It is so big 7 or more people could go at once Safety wise it’s ok all it needs is a comfortable mat at the bottom some shade because on a sunny day the metal heats up lots. The slide is for most ages  when the slide is slightly wet and you get your flexible body in shape you go accelerate emsley. The looks are superb you can see it from far away. It stands out above everything because it literally does.

The last piece of equipment I have chosen is the relaxing hammock swing. The way this is brilliant is the way it makes you want to go to sleep. Anyone can go on this because it is comfortable and low hanging which makes the Magnificent hammock safe for toddlers and adults so all ages can enjoy the excellent hammock. The hammocks bottom material is a black plastic

Ice Cream Sandwiches

“Thanks for the mouth watering wafers”,  I say to my great grandmother “we’re going to enjoy these very much!”.  Now I thought complicatedly, I can make ice cream sandwiches. Now I have to wait 5 hours to make and eat the delicious ice cream sandwiches! Waiting thinking about the tasty ice cream sandwiches. 4 hours to go trying with different things to take my totally focus mind off the ice cream sandwiches one of the things I tried was play games like chess.

3 hours to the wait is killing me the idea of it is making me hungry with the thought of the tastiness of ice cream sandwiches. Now I feel that I must do something about this thought but what can I do about this I can eat a small amount of wafers yes I solved my problems. 2 hours now I have accepted waiting I can finally relax and enjoy my time in the unbelievable holidays.

1 HOUR to go so now I can smell the future of me eating ice cream sandwiches (not really but just go with) now with that in mind the suspense is so bad and I don’t like. As you are reading you can probably feel how I feel and my sad but huge pain.  With this feeling in me I sleep for a bit and when I wake up…  To my surprise there were ice cream sandwiches  I enjoyed every mouthful it was so good.

In conclusion I think it was worth the wait to get the food and I hope you enjoyed reading it.    

The Stig

Introduction

My extravagant choice of character Is The Stig. This will explain what he looks like , characteristics and Actions.

He is on the entertaining Top Gear show he does the lap times on the immaculate supercar time board and the track is called  The Top Gear test track.  I hope you will enjoy this piece of writing

Description

The astonishing Stig has an average height . The phenomenal Stig has an impeccable Simpson helmet which has a midnight black tinted visor.   The  extravagant Stig has white and black splendid Alpinestars  racing boots which have black laces , what look as dark as the midnight sky. The next is marvelous characteristics .

Characteristics

The  unbelievable Stig ‘s first characteristic  is he is a  extremely serious person .  Another thing is he has no fear.  The next is he  relishes in going  expeditious.

The last one is  fulfilling driving  , the reason is because  it’s his laborious job. The next informational paragraph will be  the interesting actions.

Actions

One of the astonishing actions the Stig does is does not talk at all! Reason To keep his identity secret

Another thing The fascinating  Stig  drives and also drives extremely fast.  A thing he also does is stand as still as a  statue, the reason I do not have a clue really not a clue I'm not joking .

Conclusion

I hope you know more about the special stig so you know more than Top Gear presenters because all they know is he's called the Stig . That's the end of my character description.

The Frost Fields

The glistening sun rises slowly over the heavily frosted sports fields. People slowly waking up from a chilly night. Waking up with a warm and tasty hot chocolate. They opened their sun light blocking curtains to behold a majestic sight the Hypothermic frost had made it self make huge ice stalagmite on the huge oak trees. Their was completely frosted grass as well as the colossal sun poking through the icy trees. As the frost melts faster and faster. More people are leaving to go outside and before mid day it's all gone and it comes back tomorrow.

Chapter I : The Endless Forest.

12th April 1991, I was curiously exploring through the seemingly endless forest. I couldn’t help but notice the decorative river streaming a wobbly line through said forest. I balanced myself across the steep river bank, suddenly (and) to my surprise I tripped dramatically, fell and soaked myself head to toe. I was filled with embarrassment. I was extremely thankful that nobody was watching.

“Ugh!” I thought to myself. “Why is it always me?” I flicked my long hair out of my hazel eyes and I embarked on my journey to home, where I could get a new set of comfortable clothing. As I started I took 3 weary steps away from the treacherous riverbank and headed off, I then questioned where home was. I forgot my compass!

Chapter II : The Brightly Coloured Fish.

“Oh, there it is.” I mumbled to myself. And there it was, floating on the mighty river. It was next to a brightly coloured fish, in the middle of the body of water. I had to dive in! I inhaled a deep breath before catapulting my already freezing cold body into the transparent water.

         

The fish was racing it’s tiny body through the hyperthermic water, it was majestic looking. You could see it’s long, luscious fins pushing the  water back to the source of water’s origin. I wish I had a camera, yet if I did… It would’ve blown a fuse due to the watery conditions I found myself in. I then grabbed the fish, took the compass and threw the compass back up on the shore. I let the fish off with a warning, he wouldn’t have understood me but.. Meh. What do I do ?

Chapter III : Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

As I watch the fish flip and flop away from me, I start wondering why I was still in the water. I still need to head home. Priority #1: Get out of the water. As I make my way to the surface of the water I notice that the forest appears to have changed around me. “Wait, no it hasn’t.” I think to myself, the narrator is being stupid to me. Wait it was just a DREAM! You suddenly feel Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. The End.
